Max Allais is a French-New Zealand singer-songwriter who writes pop songs that linger long after the music stops playing. Grounded in universal themes like love, loss and the bittersweet passage of time, his lyrics are handwritten letters from a young man finding his way in the world.
Born in Nice but raised in Auckland, New Zealand, Max grew up between cultures. Shaped by the tides and tempos of beachside life, childhood music lessons, and the pop-rock classicism of The Beatles, ABBA, U2, and The Rolling Stones, he returned to France at age 18 to begin business studies. Everything changed when his grandfather gifted him an acoustic guitar.
Once he’d relearned a few chords, Max began uploading videos of himself singing and playing guitar online. At first, he hid under his hoodie, but as his audience grew, he revealed a captivating and calming presence. From there, Max built a substantial global audience, amassing over 3.2 million followers on TikTok and more than 842,000 on Instagram, drawn to his vulnerability and immediacy. While studying in Los Angeles, that momentum translated into songwriting sessions in Hollywood, early encounters with Ludacris and Shawn Mendes, and the realisation that life in music was a tangible dream.
In the wake of releasing his first two singles in 2023, ‘Happy Now’ and ‘Come Home’, Max spent a spell living nomadically in Singapore, London, Bournemouth, Sydney, and Auckland, before returning to Nice. Following a period of reflection, he signed with BETTER NOW Records and Coca-Cola’s Real Thing Records under the Universal Music Group umbrella.
After working with a cast of songwriters and producers, including Evan Cline, Cory and Tommy Sanders, Gabe Yaron and Jordan Cosmo, he released his debut EP, Anywhere & Everywhere (2026). Recent singles like ‘Wherever You Go’ and ‘Close To You’, and his inclusion on VEVO’s 2026 Newcomer list point to an artist refining his instincts and expanding his reach.
Over the last year, Max has performed throughout Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and the UK. In the process, he’s made the jump from smartphone and laptop screens into his listeners' real lives, while sharing stages with Arthur Hill and Calum Bowie. Now, he’s a skilled performer who commands intimate rooms and expansive concert halls in equal measure.
